Spring Orientation

Spring Orientation a one-day program is required of all new, incoming students.

Family members and guests are encouraged to attend our Family and Guest Orientation, a separate - but concurrent - program that prepares family members to be a resource for their student.

At Orientation, you will:

  • Meet with your academic advisor and Dean of your college
  • Review your class schedule
  • Connect with a Laker Leader
  • Find out about student services
  • Learn about financial aid and paying your bill
  • Take your ID photo and receive your student ID
  • Meet your new classmates!

  • January 17 (Friday)
  • January 24 (Friday) *Recommended for students living on campus

Registration

Space is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration closes for students and guests 5 business days before the program start date or once the program is filled, whichever comes first.

What to Expect

What to Bring
  • Dress at Orientation is casual, bring comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and walking shoes. You may wish to have a sweater or light jacket- some meeting areas are chilly.
  • Water bottle and bag to carry the materials you receive during the program
  • College transcripts or Advanced Placement verification, if applicable
Meals

During your Orientation session we will provide a continental breakfast and an all-you-care-to-eat lunch, as well as refreshments throughout the day.

Check-in: 8:15 - 9 am, program begins at 9:15 am
You'll learn about...

  • Campus life and getting involved
  • Financial Aid and Student Accounts (paying your bill)
  • Living on campus or commuting to campus
  • Dining halls, meal plans, textbooks rentals, and campus employment
  • Academic resources such as Degree Works, myOswego, and Starfish
  • Academic rigor and expectations from the Dean of your school or college

Orientation ends at 4:30 pm

Check-in is from 8:15 - 9 am, and the program begins promptly at 9:15 am.

Cost

A one-time $115 fee per student is assessed the student account (bill) of all new students who matriculate in the spring semester. Learn more about Orientation fees
