Online Orientation

Our 100% online Orientation experience has been carefully designed to provide incoming students and their families with the information they will need to have a smooth transition into a SUNY Oswego student.

Online Modules

Required of all main-campus, first year and transfer students
July 1 - August 15
Beginning July 1 and continuing into the month of August, you will receive new information weekly about the resources our campus provides to students. After each week, you will be required to answer 3-6 questions about the information provided that week. We hope that these online resources will answer your questions and calm your nerves through this transition.

Some of the topics included are:

  • Residence Halls and meal plans
  • Financial aid and paying your bill
  • Advisement at Oswego
  • Textbooks
  • Transportation and parking
  • Student run clubs and organizations
  • And many, many more!

Accessing Your Modules

All Orientation modules will be available through a virtual learning environment called Blackboard. Log-in to Blackboard using your Laker Net ID and password. Learn more about Blackboard, how to log in, and other features.

Make Connections

The office of Orientation is also here to connect you with current and incoming students. Each student will be assigned a Laker Leader to serve a mentor through the online Orientation program. Your Laker Leaders will be hosting zoom programs all summer, so be sure to keep checking your Oswego email for more information about who they are, and how you can connect with them!
