Digital Connections and Resources

SUNY Oswego's hybrid approach to the New Student Orientation experience means that we're providing our incoming stduents and their families with more opportunities to connect with peers, other Laker families, returning student mentors, and College staff than ever before. We are thrilled to be offering a multitude of ways for our newest Lakers to foster a strong bond with our community over the summer months.

This page outlines the various experiences designed for new students and families to leverage a virtual transition to SUNY Oswego.

Virtual Experiences for
New Students

Join your Laker Leader Group Chat

After you've completed Steps 1, 2, and 3 in the New Student Menu, you will be assigned a Laker Leader (one of our returning student mentors) who will invite you to join a group chat with other new, incoming students. You'll receive the special link via your SUNY Oswego email, so please be sure to check it often!

Participate in our Virtual Social Calendar

The Laker Leaders have 15+ social programs planned for the duration of summer.

  • Jackbox Games? Check!
  • Cards against Humanity? Mhmm!
  • Virtual Charades? Yes, friends!
  • Pop-Culture and Movie Trivia? You've got it!

Check your SUNY Oswego email and your group chat for the links, dates, and times to join. We'll post the whole social events calendar here soon.

Newsletters begin deploying the first week of July. Check back each week for the newest edition. (We'll also send family members and supporters an email, so make sure that the College has your email address on file!)
