Brian Caswell has been teaching for Leadership Oswego County for many years. He has brought his experience of accounting and not for profit organizations to the class with great vigor and enthusiasm.

Brian grew up in Phoenix, NY and graduated from Hamilton College with a BA in English Literature. He also earned an MBA from Syracuse University. He joined the accounting firm of William M. Ely, CPA where he learned that giving back to the community is an important role for every small business.

Brian is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Fulton Savings Bank, President of the Board of Director’s of St. Luke’s Health Services, and Treasure of Catholic Charities of Oswego County. He also serves as a member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants. Brian is a past adjunct professor of accounting for SUNY Oswego. He is a past member of the Phoenix Central School Board of Education, a past trustee of St. Stephen’s church, a past board member of Oswego Health, a past member of the Sheldon Round Table Public Issues Forum Advisory Committee, a past board member of the Fulton Historical Society, and the past president of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. He has also won the Syracuse University School of Management Alumni Award, the Outstanding Discussion Leader Award for the Foundation for Accounting Education, the SBA Accountant Advocate Award, the Phoenix Chamber Man of the Year Award, and the Dedicated Service Award of the NYS Society of CPA’s.

Brian believe that an award recognizes the accomplishment of an entire group as no one person can accomplish everything; and the entire organization is enriched by each and every member sharing their time and special talents.

Brian lives in Phoenix, NY with his wife and business partner Maureen A. Caswell, CPA. He has three grown children Bridget, Lauren, and Brian.
