Visions Federal Credit Union establishes scholarship for non-traditional students with financial need

When Shayla Skipp lost her husband three years ago to lymphoma, she said the only thing that kept her going were her three children and her commitment to pursuing higher education. She is one of two recipients of a new scholarship established by Visions Federal Credit Union. The scholarship provides $500 each semester to two part-time students at the Syracuse campus with a financial need.

Gift supports Rice Creek participation in Canal Forest Restoration Project

George and Jane Pauk recently pledged $5,000 per year for five years ($25,000 total) in support of the Canal Forest Restoration Project at SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Field Station. This project is an initiative to restore white oak, swamp white oak, and white pine trees to areas along the New York State canal system, including Oswego.


Theatre designer's home to appear on ABC’s 'Great Christmas Light Fight'

Fueled by his passion for theatrical productions and lighting design, theatre staff member and 2005 SUNY Oswego graduate Greg Brewster has transformed his Brewerton home into a holiday sensation that has captured the eyes of thousands (potentially millions) of viewers, as the Brewster family’s animated light show is one of four holiday light displays across America that are competing for a $50,000 prize on the season 7 premiere of ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.”
