Morning classes cancelled today - Nov. 1

Due to extreme high winds and several power outages reported this morning, all morning classes on Oswego’s main campus (those classes with starting times prior to noon) for today, Friday, Nov. 1, are cancelled.

Additional updates will be shared as necessary.

SUNY Oswego is pleased to offer the following livestream event on our campus this Thursday evening, Nov. 7, in 105 Lanigan Hall.

In conversation with activists Judy and Dennis Shepard, parents of Matthew Shepard 
Hosted by SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson (Live at the SUNY Global Center in NYC)

The presentation will run 6 to 8 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. This Oswego campus viewing is co-sponsored by SUNY Oswego's Pride Alliance. 

College signs glow purple in recognition of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

SUNY Oswego’s main entrance signs will glow with purple light during November as part of the Purple Lights for pancreatic cancer campaign, and in recognition of World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Organized by individuals affected by the disease, the campaign is a way to remember loved ones lost to pancreatic cancer, support those living with and beyond the disease, as well as raise vital awareness during November’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

With 29 percent of SUNY Oswego students counted as the first generation in their families to attend college, a new FirstLEAP Coalition for First-Generation College Student Support team on campus looks to both address these students’ needs and celebrate their accomplishments.

Jenilee Ward, who earned her master’s degree in graphic design and bachelor of fine arts from SUNY Oswego and now is the digital technician for college’s art department, will showcase her nature photography in the next exhibition in Oswego State Downtown.
