Green Flag game seeks spirited turnout

imageWhen the Oswego women’s soccer team hosts powerhouse Oneonta at 4 p.m. today, the Lakers hope for a strong show of home support.

This stiff test for Oswego’s rising program (5-5, 3-2 in the SUNYAC Conference) at Laker Field comes against a conference rival on a serious roll. Oneonta (10-1-1 overall, 7-0 in SUNYAC) boasts a staggering 79 conference straight wins dating back to 1999. Members of the campus community are invited to root for the home team as they attempt to break the Red Dragons’ win streak.

Organizers hope to make this the initial Green Flag game—a spirited and spirit-filled spotlight event for every Laker athletic team. Other Green Flag games will be announced soon.

There is no admission fee, and the event also will feature free raffles and halftime contests.
