Oswego, Plattsburgh to renew hockey rivalry Saturday

The Oswego and Plattsburgh men’s hockey teams will renew their storied rivalry at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Campus Center arena.

Video: Oswego hockey fans show their ardent support during the 2009 SUNYAC championship game.

The rivalry games in Oswego feature sellouts—like Saturday’s contest—with most fans wearing white to cheer on the Lakers. Last year, Oswego took the upper hand in the rivalry, winning three times, including the SUNYAC championship game. Both hockey powerhouses made it as far as the Frozen Four in Lake Placid last March.

Those unable to attend the game in person can still catch it different ways, including the athletic department’s online stream of WTOP’s broadcast at http://athletics.oswego.edu/video, or televised on campus channel 10, local cable access channel 96 and Time Warner Digital Cable Channel 1027, available to the North Country viewing area including Syracuse, Auburn, Binghamton and Utica. WNYO radio will provide coverage at 88.9 FM or http://www.wnyo.org. Live tweets of scores and scenes from the Campus Center will also appear on the college’s official Twitter account, http://twitter.com/sunyoswego.
