Almost 1,000 students miss meal, help library

check presentationAndre Fields, vice president of the SUNY Oswego Student Association, presents a check from students to Oswego Public Library board trustees Ellie Cali and Larry Mayo.

Nearly a thousand students from the college’s residence halls skipped a meal Nov. 15 to raise funds for the library’s capital campaign fund. Looking on from left are Craig Traub and Sandy King of Dining Services at SUNY Oswego.

One of those who missed a meal for the cause was Student Association President Josh Miller. He said students chose the project because “the Student Association is committed to helping foster education in our local community. We feel that through the Miss-a-Meal program students are giving something back to the city of Oswego.”
