Faculty exhibition to open Oct. 23

Scene from 2008 faculty exhibition.Oswego’s art department will showcase its creativity during the “Recent Work by SUNY Oswego Art Faculty” exhibition opening Oct. 23 in Tyler Art Gallery.

A reception, free and open to the public, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in Tyler Hall. Artists will be present and available to discuss their work with visitors.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase the high level of artistic achievement within the art department’s faculty as well as their wide diversity in approach,” said Michael Flanagan, assistant director of Tyler Art Gallery.

Visitors can expect to see work in such media as ceramics, digital media, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.

The exhibition will run through Nov. 7 in both Tyler’s north and south galleries.

Tyler Art Gallery is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. For more information or for visitors needing accommodations to attend, call 312-2113. Parking is free in campus lots on evenings and weekends.
