City welcomes Commencement visitors

City businesses are ready to welcome the many participants and visitors for Commencement this Saturday, May 12.

Business welcoming visitors, studentsSarah Tracy (center), a 2011 SUNY Oswego alumna and owner of The Shed tavern at West Bridge Street and Washington Boulevard; her chef, Ryan LaNeve (right); and Robert S. Close, chair of the Campus-City Relations Committee, display a sign that will pop up at The Shed and businesses all over Oswego as preparations ramp up for Commencement.

The signs, a project of the Campus-City Relations Committee, reminds business owners to put out a welcome mat: More than 1,700 students are eligible to participate in morning and afternoon sessions, and each receives five tickets to admit relatives and friends to the ceremonies in the Campus Center convocation hall and arena.
