Colors Day
Green and gold to color campus, community Aug. 31

Members of the campus and community are invited to show their SUNY Oswego spirit for the fourth annual Green and Gold Day on Friday, Aug. 31.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the greater Oswego community are invited to don green and gold in an event that ties in with National College Colors Day. Green and Gold Day is also a part of Opening Week activities, which welcome more than 2,000 new students into the campus community.

The Oswego Farmers Market hosts “Welcome Back Students Night” on the eve of Green and Gold Day, Thursday, Aug. 30. The evening will promote Laker pride, while also allowing students a chance to become familiar with what the city has to offer. The Farmers Market runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the block of West First Street just south of Bridge Street.

The city plans to fly green and gold flags on that block throughout the week, and discounted green and gold gear will be available at the College Store as well as the Oswego State Downtown store at the corner of West First and Bridge streets.

Alumni all over the world are invited to upload their green and gold photos to the official Facebook event page. Students, faculty, staff and other supporters are welcome to post their photos as well.

Find the event on Facebook at or on Twitter using the hashtag #OswegoPride.

The events are made possible by the cooperation of the college’s Oswego Alumni Association, Future Alumni Network, Office of Business and Community Relations, Orientation Program, Student Association, International Business Student Organization and Auxiliary Services as well as the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, City of Oswego and Campus-City Relations Committee.
