The campus community is invited to celebrate the retirement of Robin McAleese of the Counseling Services Center at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in 133 Marano Campus Center.
McAleese earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Oswego as a non-traditional student. As a new professional, she joined the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management as assistant dean of students where coordinated Orientation for first-year and transfer students. She also developed and coordinated an emerging leader program for first year-students (Sheldon Leaders) and was program coordinator in the Johnson Hall First-Year Residential Experience. She was faculty advisor to the Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society and the Delta Sigma Phi national fraternity. She served on the executive board of the National Orientation Directors Association as vice president for many years, contributing her professional expertise at the national level.
McAleese served on the staff of alumni and development for a short time before joining the staff of the Counseling Services Center where she earned her New York State license as a mental health counselor. She coordinated the Counseling Center P2P program. She currently serves as Faculty Mentor for Johnson Hall First Year Residential Experience.
