TYLER INFORMATION UPDATE - 02/19

NEW TYLER LOCATIONS:

  • Tyler 011 - instrumental rehearsal hall - If you wish to use this space for rehearsals outside of regularly scheduled times, you must receive permission through the Music Dept. Secretary.
  • Tyler 050 - choral rehearsal hall- lower level of Tyler. If you wish to use this space for rehearsals outside of regularly scheduled times, you must receive permission through the Music Dept. Secretary.
  • Practice Rooms - lower level of Tyler- rooms 14-22. These are now locked and accessible only to students currently participating in the music program, either through applied lessons or large/small ensembles. They are accessible during regular building hours with use of restricted code. Rooms 24/25 contain baby grand pianos. These will be locked and accessible only to those studying applied piano. Same with new percussion practice rooms Tyler 058/059. Two practice rooms are still located on the 2nd floor of Hewitt - 237 and 238. These are not locked. 
  • Tyler 012 - Recording Studio Suite- lower level of Tyler adjacent to 011. This is electronic access only and given to those students enrolled in recording classes.
  • Faculty/Staff re-locations: Dr. Auler (027); Dr. LaManna (029); Dr. Leary (060); Danny Ziemann & Nancy James (028); Tom McGrath (032); Dan Wood (030); Robert Senko (026); and Josh Russell (031) are all now located in Tyler hall- lower level.

  • NEW UPDATES 
    - Piano majors- we have a new baby grand in the practice room for you to use. PLEASE treat it like your own. Absolutely NO drink/food anywhere near the instrument! Thanks. Also the 9' Baldwin Concert Grand has been re-built and is in Tyler 11 for performance/recording use. 
    - Phase II Tyler Renovations are currently underway with a completion date of August 2019. At that time the MIDI lab, Piano lab, Theory/History classrooms, all Faculty offices, a second recording studio, and multi-purpose rehearsal room will all re-open and be available. 

HEWITT RESOURCES: The MIDI lab, Piano Lab, and many applied faculty are still located in Hewitt - Spring 2019-  until Phase II of Tyler is completed.
