Student music organizations

Mu Beta Psi is a national honorary musical fraternity. Membership is open to both men and women. It is a service fraternity encouraging fellowship among musicians and is devoted to the study and performance of music. They assist the department in a myriad of ways.

Pi Kappa Lambda is a national music honor society. It offers membership by nomination of faculty society members, based on outstanding scholarly achievement and musicianship.

Individual and group instruction

New and returning music majors:
Please contact your applied instructor (below) for private lessons. You must audition, schedule a lesson time AND register for credit IMMEDIATELY once classes begin. Forfeiture of your place in their studio may occur should you not deal with this in a timely manner.

Minors/non-majors:

Scholarships and giving opportunities

The Music Department has a Music Excellence Fund and several scholarship accounts held at the Oswego College Foundation. The Music Department Excellence Fund is a flexible fund that can be used to support new initiatives, guest artists and speakers, equipment and advertising for the Music Department. Scholarship accounts are used to support music majors and minors who are active in our program
