Professor Abraham grew up in East Rockaway, New York on Long Island. He attended Cornell University where he earned his BS and continued his education at NYU School of Law, where he earned his JD degree. Professor Abraham spent time in New York City working at a prestigious law firm, but realized it was teaching he enjoyed. He returned to school and he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Professor Abraham began teaching at SUNY Oswego in 1997. Prior to SUNY Oswego, he also taught at the University of Minnesota at Morris and the University of Northern Iowa. He currently teaches courses in human resource management, legal environment of business and management. His most recent journal articles have been published in The BRC Academy Journal of Business, Economics, Management and Financial Markets, and Advances in Industrial and Labor Relations. Currently, his research is focusing on legislation, regulation, court decisions and other events related to employment.

Outside of teaching, Professor Abraham volunteers his time to a number of service activities, enjoys going for runs, often on campus and is a big sports fan.
