MAA Seaway Section Conference

The 2017 Mathematical Association of America Seaway Section Conference will take place March 31 to April 1 at SUNY Oswego.
Online registration l

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Seaway Section holds a meeting twice per academic year, welcoming participation not only from college mathematics and statistics faculty, but also from students at all levels (high school, undergraduate and graduate) and mathematicians in the private sector. The mission of the MAA is to “advance the mathematical sciences, especially at the collegiate level” and the Seaway Section supports that mission regionally through a variety of student activities, faculty development programs and mathematical programming at the Seaway Section meetings.

The Seaway Section extends west across New York State to encompass every part that is roughly northwards of the 42nd parallel, and into the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario (except Thunder Bay). The section maintains a list of schools included.

Faculty, graduate students and mathematicians are encouraged to present a 25-minute (including questions) contributed talk. Titles and abstracts must be submitted to Professor Marlo Brown (mbrown@niagara.edu) by March 3, 2017, to be considered for acceptance.  Undergraduate students are encouraged to present a student talk, typically 15 minutes including questions. Titles and abstracts for student talks must be submitted to Professor Dave Brown (dabrown@ithaca.edu) by March 10, 2017, for consideration.
