Penfield Library welcomes your donations of books and media in good condition. Small quantities of materials may be dropped off at the Check-Out & Reserves Desk anytime. For more information or to arrange delivery of larger donations, please contact Serials/Cataloging, 315-312-3210.

Donations will be considered for possible addition to our collection. Those items not selected will be sold at our year-round book sale. This is a fundraiser for the library; the proceeds are used for purchasing new library resources and for student events in the library. We very much appreciate your support!

We accept the following, in good condition:

  • Books (paperback or hardcover; fiction or nonfiction)
  • Recordings -- CDs, DVDs
  • Children's books
  • Textbooks within last 3 years

We do not accept:

  • Magazines and journals
  • Old encyclopedias
  • Dirty, wet or smelly books
  • Reader's Digest condensed books
  • Paperback romance novels
  • VHS tapes

Need a receipt?

Please give us your name, address, and an item count by type (# hardcover, # paperback, etc.) when you drop off your donation, and we will send you a letter of receipt. We do not assign value to your donation.
