Approximately 170 new students participated in the library's Open House on Sunday, August 25th! The scavenger hunt event was intended to bring new students into the library in order to orient them to the building and some of the key services available at Penfield Library. Deciphering a sample of cursive writing from Special Collections, playing with the technology available for borrow, and locating "human books" were the highlights of the event.

Congratulations to grand prize winner Quinn A. Quinn has won a $100 Bookstore gift card! Twenty other students also won $5 Library Café gift cards.

The Open House was a success thanks to the energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork of library staff, students, and librarians. Many thanks to Kristen Medici, Sharona Ginsberg, Kim LeRoy, and Deidre Devlin. Thanks also to the Penfield student employees who helped welcome a new class of Oswegonians: Abby Connelly, Kayla Elliott, Devin Hodges, Erik Vergara, Emily Shadron, Kim Solorzano, Matthew Cameron, Francis Aggrey, Jennifer Vargas, Brady Mentz, and Alex Plate.
