Obtaining a Penfield Library Card

To borrow materials, a Penfield Library Card is needed.

Cost: None

Educators

Conditions:

  • You must bring a completed application for Educators to Penfield Library.
  • The card is issued for one year.
  • You may renew your card if you remain in good standing (no fines or overdue materials).
  • No one else may use your Penfield Library Card.

High School Students

Conditions:

  • You must bring a completed application for high school students to Penfield Library.
  • The card is issued for two months
  • You may renew your card if you remain in good standing (no fines or overdue materials) and are still a high school student.
  • No one else may use your Penfield Library Card.

If more than one number is listed, the first applies to high school students; the second applies to educators.

Materials Penfield Library doesn't own

Educators and high school students may not use Penfield's Interlibrary Loan system. If you need materials that Penfield Library does not own, we recommend that you ask your public or school library to help you obtain them.

Fines and Penalties

Your borrowing privileges will be suspended if you have either:

  • any overdue items
  • any unpaid fines or fees

Borrowing privileges may be permanently withdrawn.

In addition to fines on overdue items, you will be billed for lost materials.

  • You will be sent 3 notices for overdue materials.
  • After the third notice, you will be invoiced for lost materials.
  • Lost materials are billed for replacement costs plus a $25 processing fee per item.
