Stephen Yang

Dr. Stephen P. Yang is an Assistant Professor in SUNY Oswego's Department of Health Promotion & Wellness.  He received his Ph.D (Kinesiology) from Penn State University, his M.S. in Exercise & Sport Science (Kinesiology) from the University of New Brunswick (New Brunswick, Canada) and his B.S. (Physical Education) from St. Francis Xavier University (Nova Scotia, Canada). Dr. Yang researches the effectiveness of using fitness video games (exergaming) and mobile technologies and has been an invited speaker to several national and international conferences. He is a contributor to the Games for Health (GFH) Project (www.gamesforhealth.org),  and consults with video game and mobile app developers, fitness companies, as well as toy companies on products and programming. 

In recognition of his knowledge and expertise, he has been appointed to several Advisory Boards and has been interviewed on national television and radio. Throughout all his teaching, research and collaborations, he wishes to see how technology, social media, and games can be used as potential gateways to inspire people of all ages and abilities to be active and healthy for a lifetime.
