This program provides a comprehensive authentic learning experience in play therapy. You will develop child-centered listening and communication skills needed in a professional role. Take your learning outside of the classroom by participating in a supervised internship.
Distinguish yourself in the mental health counseling field with an advanced baccalaureate play therapy certificate. Graduates from this program are qualified to become Registered Play Therapists and/or Certified Child-Centered Play Therapists and Certified Child Psychotherapists through the Association for Play Therapy, National Institute for Relational Enhancement and Play Therapy International. Faculty’s strong relationships with agencies and schools allow you to work with credentialed play therapists and develop your professional network. Credits from this program may apply toward SUNY Oswego’s Mental Health Counseling master’s degree.
