Service learning

Would you like to take an active role in the community? Would you like to visit the elderly, help special athletes reach for their dreams, or tutor new readers, all while earning academic credit? If so, then consider Service Learning.

Oswego offers many different opportunities for service learning. One way is through our FirstChoice program. First Year Students have the opportunity to earn three credits while participating in an approved community service project. Students will reflect on the community experience through class discussion and writing assignments. While students are giving to others, they gain the support and camaraderie of sharing their interests with faculty and other students just as committed and caring as they are!
