Curriculum and Instruction: Student Teaching Information

To be eligible for New York State certification, all candidates registered in a teacher education program are required to student teach and/or complete an internship under a college supervisor who works cooperatively with a cooperating teacher to assist candidates in developing the needed teaching skills, knowledge, and dispositions.

Application process:

The student teaching application will become available on the dates listed below in TK20.

Student Teaching Orientation is mandatory for all student teaching candidates. Candidates should read and be familiar with the student teaching handbook prior to orientation.

Note: Student teaching candidates follow the vacation/holiday schedule of the district they are student teaching in, not the SUNY Oswego vacation/holiday schedule.
