Honorary Speaker Rita Coburn-Whack is an award-winning writer, producer and director for television, magazines, series, news, talk shows, documentary programming and social media. Her television projects include three Emmy Award-winning documentaries and productions for local and public television programs airing on C-SPAN and the History Channel. Coburn-Whack's latest documentary "Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise" (2016) is the first feature documentary about the remarkable writer, poet, actress and activist Maya Angelou. Reception and student documentary screening begins at 6 p.m. Question and answer session with Coburn-Whack moderated by Michael Riecke of communication studies department begins at 7 p.m. Part of SUNY Oswego Voice of Diversity Speaker series and the Diversity in the Arts Documentary Project.
