Leigh Allison Wilson attended Williams College for her BA, and the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa for her MFA. She was a Henry Hoyns Fellow at the University of Virginia for two years after college.

Leigh is the author of two books of fiction and numerous stories and essays. Her first book, From the Bottom Up, won the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction. Her second book, Wind, was nominated by William Morrow for a Pulitzer Prize. Her prose has appeared in Harper's, Mademoiselle, Grand Street, The Georgia Review, The Southern Review, The Kenyon Review, among other magazines and journals. She has frequently reviewed books for The Washington Post Book World. Her work has been anthologized widely and read on NPR's Selected Shorts.
