The most recent summary of NYSTCE results for all teacher education institutions in New York State - including SUNY Oswego - is available at the Title II website.
SUNY Oswego's School of Education is accredited for all its certification programs by NCATE, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the standard of excellence in teacher education accreditation. Oswego encourages a diverse student body to apply to our teacher education programs, and we support all our candidates as they move through a challenging set of courses and field experiences on their journey to becoming competent, caring, and qualified teachers.
Graduates from the School of Education at SUNY Oswego do very well on the required state certification tests. The Arts & Sciences courses you take for General Education and your content major provide an excellent foundation for the state exams. Your education courses and field experiences will help you develop the deep understanding of the work of professional educators in your chosen field.
More about what tests are required for each certification area can be found on the NYSED Teacher Certification website; the National Evaluation Services (NES) website provides complete information about registering and preparing to take the tests.
