Degree Overview

This program will build on your knowledge of content and pedagogy for all learners and help you integrate additional strategies and tools to support diverse learners across the general education curricula. Program focus includes developing skills for effective co-teaching in multiple content areas, providing specialized instruction for students with disabilities, and integrating assistive technology. Cultivate specialized professional knowledge of effective practices and interventions to help students with disabilities develop individual literacy abilities and positive behaviors.

You will extend your specialized professional development through course-related field experiences supported by program faculty. Gain school-based experience co-teaching content classes, providing supplemental instruction (e.g., resource room) and serving students with varied learning characteristics, including students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
