Childhood initial MSED

Degree Overview

The master of science in teaching (MST) childhood education 1-6 initial certification program has courses and field experience which are designed for candidates with a baccalaureate degree and the equivalent of a major in liberal arts and sciences.  Completion of this degree -- along with passing scores on the New York State Teacher's Exams, the required teaching experience, and fulfillment of all other NYSED requirements (see www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/) -- will qualify a candidate to receive a New York State initial and professional teaching certificate in childhood education grades 1-6. The childhood program is taught at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center, and Syracuse City Schools are partners in this Clinically Rich Program.
