Karin Liseth DeLeon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree (2009) and Master of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University (2017). She completed her internship and an advanced mental health residency program at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Counseling Center. She then transitioned to Syracuse University where she served as a full time Staff Therapist specializing in individual and group therapy. While at Syracuse University Karin led groups for Graduate Students of Color, and groups for interpersonal processing. Just before joining SUNY Oswego Karin was a clinician at a private agency specializing in the treatment of ADHD and Autism. In addition to mental health counseling experience, Karin also has a background in clinical research, and community case management.
Karin’s passions include working with neuro-divergent people, marginalized communities such as Students of Color, LGBTQIA+ Students, first generation immigrant students, and first generation students. When she is not helping students at SUNY Oswego, Karin enjoys being outside in her garden, cuddling with her dogs and cats, gaming, and exploring new places in the area.
