If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, you can call for a rapid access appointment with a crisis counselor at 315.312.4416, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:00 p.m.
Crisis sessions are designed to help students facing life-threatening situations, serious mental illness, recent or current traumatic events, concerns for safety of self or others, and/or the inability to function.
When requesting to meet with a crisis counselor, the student will be "triaged", meaning assessed for 10-15 minutes. Depending on the situation, the counselor may be able to take more time with the student and spend a full 45 minutes to help the student stabilize. If the situation is something that can wait for a scheduled appointment, the crisis counselor will help the student schedule an appointment for later that week or the following week.
For emergencies after hours, weekends and holidays, you can call our office number at 315.312.4416 and push number 2 when prompted. A crisis counselor will speak with you immediately.
