Voter Registration

Oswego County Voter Registration

Not registered to vote?

  • If you are a citizen of the United States, will be 18 years old and will turn 18 years old before the election you wish to vote in, you can register to vote using your Oswego campus address.
    • This will allow you to register on-campus in the next election
    • If you register now in Oswego county you will not be eligible to vote via absentee ballot (because you can vote here!)
    • Register to vote in Oswego County or register through the Department of Motor Vehicles to vote in the county of your permanent address

Already registered to vote?

  • If you want to change your address to your Oswego campus address, you should complete a voter registration form with your on-campus address. This will allow you to register on-campus for the next election.
  • If you want to vote via absentee ballot while you are at Oswego, do not complete another voter registration form. Prior to the election, you need to request an absentee ballot from your home county. Be mindful of the process and deadlines!

How to vote using absentee ballot

  • Voting via absentee ballot is only available to you if you are away from the location where you are already registered to vote.
    • If you are registered to vote using your permanent (home) address and are on campus at the time of the election, you can request an absentee ballot in advance from your home county. Visit the Oswego County Board of Elections for more information.
    • If you are registered to vote using your Oswego address and are here on campus at the time of the election, you cannot vote via absentee ballot.
