Personal Bio:
Richard Metzgar is an artist and designer based in Upstate New York. His art practice over the past fifteen years has been based on collaborative projects with Bartow + Collaborator/Metzgar (with artist Paul Bartow, 2014-present); Bartow + Metzgar (with artist Paul Bartow, 1999-2012); and the art collective spurse (2003-2009)

Current Research/Research Interests:
Bartow + Collaborator/Metzgar (a collaborative practice of artist/designer Paul Bartow and artist/designer Richard Metzgar) that focuses its interest on human and nonhuman entanglements, which can be thought of as interwoven systems involving history, culture, nonhuman agents, material interactions, and time. The practice of B+C/M is inherently collaborative and has involved work with collaborators from the fields of geology, microbiology, geography, film, and architecture (2014-present)
