When you join our financial representative internship program, you'll be supported by a team of people in our Long Island and NYC offices that will:

• Help you master our personalized planning process to provide financial solutions tailored to each client’s needs over his or her lifetime.
• Help you build on your classroom learning and develop lifelong skills.
• Work with your school schedule, with internships that are available to full-time student’s part time during the school year. At Northwestern Mutual, financial representative interns help people meet their financial goals. They can handle a challenge, take feedback, and push for success.

They get to train with industry veterans, all while building their own practice and their earning potential. As a financial representative intern, a typical day may include:
• Helping clients and prospects think big and creating a game plan for achieving their goals
• Developing tailored solutions for each client • Training and coaching from the best in the business through an award-winning training program
• Team meetings to set and track goals
• Making calls to prospective clients You just may have found the internship for you, if:

We’re looking for people with different backgrounds and work experience, including but not limited to: finance and economics majors, individuals with sales experience, collegiate athletics, campus and community involvement.

Prior financial services experience is NOT required.

We provide very extensive, training, mentorship and development during our program.

We're looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, a history of personal success, and strong verbal and written skills. Someone who is a self-starter and is highly motivated would be the ideal candidate for the Northwestern Mutual team.
