About the Eat Healthy 5-day Challenge

Campus Recreation encourages students to choose healthy foods.  We are conducting a healthy food challenge in collaboration with Oswego Dining Services, Kathryn Szklany, MA, RD, CDN Registered Dietitian.  We will post a challenge each day for five days to encourage students to eat healthy.

Dates: March 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th at 9am

 

Day 1 Challenge

Monday, March 1st

Eat 2 servings of fruit today. One (1) serving of fruit is a medium size whole fruit or 1/2 cup of cut up fruit.

Take a picture of your 2 servings of fruit today and send it to us on Instagram for a chance to win prizes!

Day 2 Challenge

Tuesday, March 2 

Build a large colorful salad or eat 3 different kinds of vegetables today. 

The brighter and more vibrant the color the better! Take a picture of your salad or your 3 different vegetables and send it to us on Instagram for a chance to win prizes!

Day 3 Challenge

Wednesday, March 3

Hydrate your body with water and milk. Avoid sugary beverages today.

Take a picture of your smart drinks and send it to us on Instagram for a chance to win prizes.  A winner will be selected every day of the challenge. 

Day 4 Challenge

Thursday, March 4 

Power up your breakfast today with protein. Consider starting your day with Greek yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, or cottage cheese.

Take a picture of your breakfast protein choice today and send it to us on Instagram  for a chance to win prizes.  A winner will be selected every day of the challenge.

Day 5 Challenge

Friday, March 5

Make half your grains whole. Consider making your sandwich on whole wheat bread or a whole wheat wrap. Add quinoa to your salad for some added whole grains and fiber.

Take a picture of your whole grains you eat today and send it to us on Instagram for a chance to win prizes.  A winner will be selected every day of the challenge.
