How to Reserve a Sheldon Hall Guest Room

Conference Services has guest rooms in Sheldon Hall that are available for use by College-affiliated staff or departments to host guests (candidates, speakers, or visitors to campus) for departmental functions. 

The Sheldon Hall guest rooms are NOT available for Student Organization use.  Student Organizations looking for overnight accommodations for speakers and/or guests should make arrangements with one of the local hotels. If a College-affiliated department reserves a Sheldon Hall guest room on behalf of a Student Organization that department will assume any liability for damages caused by the guest and will be responsible for any fees associated with the guest and the reservation.

Fees & Billing

The cost of a Sheldon Hall guest room is $70 per night for one (1) occupant per room or $90 per night for two (2) occupants per room

As of July 1, 2022, the cost of a Sheldon Hall guest room is $90 per night for one (1) occupant per room or $110 per night for two (2) occupants per room. 

Invoices for guest rooms will be processed and sent to the host department at the end of each month.  Payment is required within 30 days of the date of the invoice.

Keys & Access

The host is responsible for picking up keys for their guest(s). Keys can be picked up in the Campus Life Office, Marano Campus Center from10am – 3pm, Monday – Friday.  In an effort to ensure the safety and security of all our guests, keys may not be picked up prior to 10am on the day of the guest’s arrival.  For guests arriving on the weekend, the host can make arrangements with Conference Services to have the guest pick up the keys from University Police (UP), which is located in Pathfinder Hall.  These arrangements must be made in advance. 

Guests will be provided with a FOB for the main door (east entrance) to Sheldon Hall and a key to their room.  In addition, a guest will receive a parking pass, parking guide, Wi-Fi instructions and a map of Sheldon Hall.  Smoking (including E-cigarettes) or burning of incense or candles is not allowed in Sheldon Hall.

Amenities & Check-in/Check-out Instructions

Guest rooms are equipped with either one or two queen-size bed(s), dresser, cable TV, coffee/coffee maker, iron/ironing board, soap, shampoo, and towels. Each guest room has its own bathroom.  Guests may not enter the room until after 2pm on the day of their scheduled arrival and must vacate the room by 10am on the day of their departure.  Departing guests should leave the keys in the room.

Important Information

Sheldon Hall is NOT a hotel.  There is no staff on duty to assist guests.  Guests are accommodated on the condition that they are hosted by a department from campus.  Limited daily service is available. 

Guests experiencing issues with heat, water or electrical service should contact University Police at x5555 to report their concerns. 

All other questions, not directly related to the facilities of the guest rooms, should be directed to, and handled by the host department.
