Our Mission

The mission of NABA, Inc. is to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the future of the business profession with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors.

The goals of the association include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To promote and develop the professional skills of our members
  • To provide opportunities for members to ensure success in their future careers
  • To encourage cordial relations among members and cooperative relationships with other professionals

What is NABA?

NABA, Inc. is the oldest and largest professional membership organization focused specifically on African-Americans and people of color in the accounting, finance, and business-related fields. NABA represents more than 20,000 professionals in business and industry, public accounting, government, nonprofit and education, including those with the highly-coveted CPA designation and students preparing for careers in the profession or related fields.

When you are a member of NABA, you are part of a network that provides opportunities for growth and success in the global business marketplace. NABA's members share and promote a professional ethos - "Lifting as we climb!"

National Scholarship Program

NABA offers an average of 50 national scholarships annually ranging from $1,000 - $5,000.

NABA's 42nd Eastern Region Student Conference (ERSC)

From October 5th - October 7th, NABA's Oswego Chapter will be attending the Eastern Region Student Conference in Norfolk, VA. This conference is an annual program that consists of student members, professionals, and corporate representatives. The ERSC will be a two-and-a-half day student conference filled with tailored workshops, seminars, and interview sessions designed to better prepare students for careers in accounting, financial management, and other business-related disciplines. Students along the East coast will be coming together for you to be able to find internships and full time jobs as well as network with professionals and other student members.
