Prerequisite and placement score information

Prerequisite information: If you have already completed the prerequisite course at another institution, credit for the prerequisite must be uploaded into Banner at Oswego before you will be allowed to register. If you are a transfer student currently enrolled in the prerequisite course, you should complete your ALEKS PPL Assessment if it is likely that Oswego will not receive an updated transcript at least a week prior to your orientation program.  If you are a first-year student who may receive AP credit for Calculus , you should complete your ALEKS PPL Assessment since you will be preregistered into a math course before Oswego receives your AP score.

To see which calculus-based course your major will require (MAT 120- Precalculus, MAT 210- Calculus, or MAT 208-Mathematical Applications for Business and Management) please review your major in the catalog.  You may also review your Degree Works Audit in MyOswego.

A word of caution: While a grade in the D range in a prerequisite course will allow the student to advance to the next course, such a grade indicates that the student's performance was unsatisfactory.  In this case, the student is very likely to fail the next course and may wish to repeat the prerequisite course to better prepare for the next course.  Students are urged to consult with their academic advisor in this situation.
