Advisement Center Drop Ins

The Advisement Center is currently open for face to face drop-in appointments. Sign up for the next available time slot and enter your name in an open time. You will receive an email confirmation of the time. Please come to the appointment in 101 Hewitt Hall.

Virtual Drop Ins

If you are a current or incoming SUNY Oswego student you can live chat with an Academic Success Advisor. Enter the virtual waiting room in Zoom and an Advisor will be with you shortly (during the available hours posted below). For all other advising inquires please email advisement@oswego.edu

The Advisement Center helps students transition from high school and other institutions to the SUNY Oswego community. Even before you start your first semester we are by your side providing academic advising and introducing you to campus-wide resources, services, and experiences that will help you thrive academically and socially.

  • Interpret college policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Help you stay on track to graduate
  • Provide strategies for time management and studying

Advisement Process

All students are assigned Academic Success Advisors who are specially trained to assist students with the transition to SUNY Oswego, and provide you with the right information to help you reach your academic goals leading to graduation. As you progress at Oswego you'll be assigned a department faculty advisor who will work with you for the rest of your college career.

Peer Mentoring

Peer Mentors provide group support and assistance to students throughout their college career at Oswego. Our Peer Mentors can help guide you to the resources you need to adjust to life at Oswego and to help you succeed.

Workshops

The advisement center offers academic support through a variety of success workshops. Each semester we offer a range of student success topics including; effective study habits, time management, and achieving your goals. Videos of session topics are available.
