College Access Week

Essay Writing Workshop - August 4th, 11 am
Counselors from SUNY Oswego will walk you through what an impactful college essay looks like. This is a working session, so please be prepared to stay the entirety of the meeting. By the end of the workshop, you will have a first draft of your college essay written.

Applying to College - August 5th, 11 am
Does the application process overwhelm you? A SUNY Oswego Admissions Counselor will walk you through the Common Application and the SUNY Application, so you can see the pros and cons of each. We will show you tips and tricks, answer your questions, and help you decide which will fit you best.

What is Financial Aid? - August 6th, 6 pm
Rodrick Andrews, Director of Financial Aid at SUNY Oswego, will give you an introduction to Financial Aid for college. He will explain what it is, how it works, and what to know during your search process. Attendees will leave having a better understanding of Financial Aid and how it can work for them.

Still have lingering questions after attending one or all of the sessions? Feel free to “drop in” to our Help Center between 11 am and 3 pm (located in Zoom) on Friday, August 7th, to talk with a counselor regarding anything from major options to the final details of your essay.
