When can I visit SUNY Oswego?
SUNY Oswego offers year-round campus visits. Register for one of many visit options online at our visit page or by calling the Office of Admissions at 315.312.2250 during regular business hours.

If I took the SAT/ACT more than once, which scores do you consider?
We look at the highest score from each section (even from different dates) to determine your SAT/ ACT score. For admissions and scholarship purposes we will consider the highest relative score from either the SAT or ACT.

How important are SAT scores? What tests are required?
SUNY Oswego is SAT/ACT test-optional for the Fall ’23, Spring ’24 and Fall ’24 terms. Oswego uses a holistic, full-file application review process for both admission and merit-based scholarship consideration. While we will consider scores if submitted, SAT/ACT results are not required.

What do you look at when evaluating an application?
Our admissions process is selective. Everything counts! We look at your high school record to see whether you have taken the most challenging courses. We also consider supplemental information (personal essay, letters of recommendation and resume).

When are applications available?
They are available beginning August 1st of the year before you wish to attend. For more information, visit our How to Apply page.

Can I check my application status online?
Applicants may check their application status online on your Applicant Portal two weeks after the application is processed. Students are encouraged to check this site often until their application is complete. User IDs and PINs are mailed weekly as applications are loaded.

In addition, Oswego awards millions in merit scholarships each year to outstanding undergraduates. For more information, see our financial aid page.

What merit scholarships does Oswego offer?
Millions in scholarships will be awarded to SUNY Oswego students this fall.

Is a separate application required for Presidential or Merit Scholarship consideration?
Students are automatically considered for Oswego scholarships by completing the application for admission. No special scholarship application is required. New information may be submitted up to May 1st for reconsideration.

Is there a mandatory EOP summer program?
First-year students admitted through the EOP program are required to successfully complete the mandatory four-week summer program in July. For specific questions contact the EOP Office at 315.312.3094 or [email protected].
