Accessible Teaching Tools

Course materials created using the features and principles of accessibility will be more easily and universally used by all members of the classroom. By not using the accessibility design principles, a professor may be forced to make accommodations on an as-needed basis. This could cause a delay in learning for the student, as the instructor scrambles to get video captioning or audio transcripts, which can be time-consuming. We suggest that professors put accessibility at the forefront of their course materials, thereby saving time and frustration for everyone involved.
