Hart Hall is a specialized residence near the center of Oswego's campus. Connected by Cooper Dining and Fitness Center, Hart and Funnelle halls each stand nine stories high and house over 300 students.

Finished in 1963, Hart Hall was Oswego's first high-rise dormitory constructed to house the ever-growing student population. The building was dedicated in 1965 honoring the name of Isabelle Kingsbury Hart, a graduate of the Oswego Normal School who later returned as a popular geography teacher.

The most striking changes to the hall came in the 1990s when an $8 million renovation transformed the building into a residence focused on international students and service. The Hart Hall Global Living and Learning Center hosts the majority of the international students who choose to attend SUNY Oswego in addition to other residents who agree to certain requirements. Special events including a conference that showcases worldwide cultures make it a lively place.

A comfortable lounge, separate study lounge, kitchenettes, and wireless Internet on every floor are offered to Hart Hall residents as well as graduate and faculty resident mentors who help students grow academically, professionally and personally. This learner-centered environment allows students to focus on academic excellence, social responsibility within a global context and a greater sense of community.
