William Patterson EDU 506 Final Reflection Assignment #1- Microsoft Lesson Plan Document The purpose of this assignment was to create a lesson plan with wrap around text and other formatting techniques. I really enjoyed this project for the fact that I did not know how to wrap text. I am not sure I would have made a lesson plan this ornamental if I was not assigned it, but I can now see the value of creating plans like this for the future, especially for my portfolio. I am sure this would be helpful in job interviews and if I were being observed and had to present lesson plans the formatting would please my Director. Click here to view my Lesson Plan. Assignment #2 –Microsoft Excel Document The purpose of this task was to use Excel as a spreadsheet calculator. We also were made familiar with the many equations and charting abilities of Excel. I was dreading this assignment. I have never wanted to use Excel, and every time I’ve tried I have been disappointed with my results. However, with your help I felt as though I finally saw how useful this program could be! The “equation” part of it still confuses me a bit, but as far using it for averages I feel confident. Presently the website that I use for school attendance and calendar etc… calculates grades so I do not need to use Excel for that function, but in the future I would like to use it in a different school setting if needed. I especially like the charting ability. Click here to view my Excel project. Assignment #4- WebQuest The purpose of this assignment was to create a website that would enhance students centered learning in an interactive environment via the Internet. I loved this assignment! I wish I could get some of my high school students to create web quests. I felt like I was nervous because I was going to have to write DOS language or HTML or whatever it is that creates websites, but it was so user friendly and satisfying. I think that even someone with limited confidence with computers can really see the results quickly and feel good about the work they have done. I will definitely be showing this off to my friends, students, teachers and relatives with pride in the work that I have done. However, I was wondering if there are any copyright issues with using pictures or audio files on a web quest in the future. Click here to view my WebQuest.
