Herb Simons research ranged from computer science to 
psychology, administration and economics.  He made extensive use 
of the computer as a tool for both simulating human thinking and
augmenting it with artificial intelligence.
	He won a Nobel Prize in 1978 in Economics and many prestigious
international scientific awards for his work in cognitive psychology 
and computer science.  He died on February 9th, 2001 at the age of 84.
