Roger Schank is the director of the Institute for the Learning Sciences (ILS) at Northwestern Univeristy. Schank is a strong critic of today's educational system. His approach to education is to help people learn by doing, allowing people to make a mistake in a safe learning environment, this effort has lead to his highly successful role as a teacher, consultant and lecturer. Schank has written more than 125 articles and publications and is one of the world's leading AI researchers.
