Roger Schank is the director of the Institute for the Learning Sciences 
(ILS) at Northwestern Univeristy. Schank is a strong critic of today's 
educational system. His approach to education is to help people learn by 
doing, allowing people to make a mistake in a safe learning environment, 
this effort has lead to his highly successful role as a teacher, 
consultant and lecturer.
Schank has written more than 125 articles and publications and is one of 
the world's leading AI researchers. Some of the articles and books that he 
has written include: "Dynamic Memory: A Theory of Learning in Computers 
and People", "The Connoisseur's Guid to the Mind", and "Engines for 
Education."
