KARL LASHLEY

Living from 1890 to 1958 Lashley was born and educated in the United
States.  He began to collaborate with Shepherd J Ranz in th estudy of
Intelligence, as well as the role of frontal lobes.

He gave the theory of cortical specialization for sensory and motor
functions.  He callegned the ongoing concept of cortical localiation.  The
ocontroversy between localization and holistic emphasis of brain function
was brought into focus by LAshley  He is well remembered as a great
psychologist who approached learning and memory by assessing the effects
of brain damage in laboratory animals.
