• wife - Mary Virginia (Ginny) Durkin Stamm - MS in Medical Genetics and a Licensed Practical Nurse
• daughter - Abigail (Abby) Jeanne Stamm - After graduating from St. Lawrence University with a degree in anthropology, she taught elementary school (mainly science and art) in Los Angeles as a volunteer with Quest, an Americorp type program. In October 2001 she left for a Peace Corps assignment in Malawi Africa teaching high school science. She will be there until December 2002.

• foster daughter - Patience Faith Phillips - Married to Nicholas Boswell, a classical guitarist. Patience graduated from SUNY Potsdam in education and is working at Day Care Center in Potsdam
