Description

Children of Chernobyl Has the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl had an effect on the development of children? A confidence interval is developed to help investigate the point.
Prozac for Anorexia Does Prozac reduce the frequency of relapses in women recovering from anorexia nervoa?
Burn Time of Ohio Blue Tip Kitchen Matches How long do they burn? As we'll see, there's quite a bit a variability. In addition, the distribution is nonnormal. We'll obtain a confidence interval for the mean burn time of all such matches.
Is the average fill of the soda bottles too little? A soft drink distributor believes the machine that fills bottles is out of calibration. Are the bottles, on average, underfilled? A significance test is used to answer the question.
Determining Statistical Ties How and when are poll results comparing two or more candidates determined to be a statistical tie? A significance test is used determine this.
Are Marital Status and Job Grade Associated? Using the Chi-square test to determine whether or not the association between these two categorical variables is statistically significant.
