As I turn one hundred and thirty years old I look by on all that I have done with my life. My first amazing moment was realizing I could make myself invisible at the age of six and a half. You could only imagine the things I could do with my power. After graduating from college I found myself applying for jobs in the southern tier. I worked for an advertising agency for several years. I was soon engaged and married within a year’s time. It was on our honeymoon that everything changed. We spent two weeks in Ireland and after 14 days of rainfall we found it necessary to purchase ponchos. Neither of us had any burning desire to get back to are normal day to day lives. We took money out of our savings and booked a flight to Bermuda.
One day we found ourselves on a dive boat traveling out to sea for the day. We enjoyed our afternoon exploring the bottom of the ocean. On the way back to port we were suddenly engulfed in a thick fog. As time passed the air cleared and in front of our eyes was a mountainous island. The captain of the ship was at a complete loss as to where we were, claiming he had never come across this island in the fifty years he had been at sea. He tired to call in our location but the radio was not working. Suddenly, a terrible storm began and the captain felt it was best to try to get to the shores of the island. Tragically, our boat was smashed against rocks. Nick and I swam for our lives and made it to the beach.

When the sun rose the following morning there was no one else in sight. We found the boats radio but it wasn’t in working condition. After several weeks we were able to get the radio functioning and months later contacted the coast guard. Upon picking us up they informed us we had discovered a new island. We named the island Neverland. The island would become part of the Bahamas if I didn’t have anything to do with it. Nick and I fled back to Ireland and it was about time I told him of my secret power. At first he didn’t believe me but sometimes not seeing is believing. I began quickly finding my way into bank vaults, stealing money, jewelry, and precious stones. In time I would gather enough money to claim the island that I had discovered.

We had a castle built on the highest peak of the island. I watched as our community slowly began to emerge. We established a democracy. We did not follow the traditions of the United States but instead I became Queen, as opposed to President, of Neverland. As the years passed the other nations of the world accepted us and we soon became one of the seven powers of the world. As the years passed we made it to number one. As Queen I constantly traveled the world with King Nick. Unlike other public figures we were able to avoid the press thanks to my power. As I grew older my power grew strong. I could now make anyone invisible with me as long as we were in constant contact. Now as I celebrate my one hundred and thirtieth birthday I question whether I am immortal or not…
